My Story

I'm Lauren. I first became interested in becoming a registered dietitian because I love food! Throughout my undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em!), I became more and more interested in helping people to live happier, healthier and more balanced lives through food, exercise and work-life balance. I went on to finish my dietetic internship and Master's degree in clinical nutrition at SUNY University at Buffalo in New York.

After my education and internship, I worked as a nutrition coach at My Fit Foods helping people reach their nutrition goals while providing convenient healthy foods in house. I then started at the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) helping ensure some of the most in need youth in Texas received well balanced healthy meals throughout their rehabilitation programs. I also took on a role as the Employee Wellness Coordinator.

While I really enjoyed my 9-5 jobs, I found I was longing to be more influential in improving the health and well being of both families and individuals. Balance 52 was founded on the idea that balance should be achieved all 52 weeks in the year and how that looks will be different for each family. I specialize in helping people meet their goals related to nutrition, fitness and family dynamics in a fun and stress free environment.
